Sequin No.6 Stripe tee, £38, Oasis
Parisian inspired t-shirts are the look of the moment, and they are the perfect addition to skinny jeans and ankle boots. We’ve fallen head over heels for this particular tee, it ticks every style box. It’s monochrome, it has exaggerated shoulder detailing, it has sequins, and has a super cool motif. This may well be our hero piece this winter, be prepared to see us in it… a lot!

Who? What? Where? When?
Mariah continues her reign of weirdness
Following her tardiness for This Morning, and bizarre butterfly confetti stunt on the X Factor, it turns out that Mariah Carey has been causing trouble on the GMTV sofa. Well, that’s once she managed to get onto the sofa, and reportedly had two people to lower her onto it. According to GMTV presenter Kate Garraway, Mariah also had her entourage on hand to make sure that she was being filmed from her best angle, as well making sure that she had her own toilet roll on hand. Most bizarrely is that Mariah has someone to walk backwards at all times in front of her in case she falls over. Mariah’s people have hit back saying that Kate Garraway’s claims are a ‘clear, gross exaggeration.’ Is she a diva? Is there ever smoke without fire? [Daily Mail]
Sex and the City: The prequel
Calling all SATC fans, Carrie is set to return, well begin actually. Candace Bushnell has created a new novel called The Carrie Diaries, which is a teenage prequel to Sex and the City. The cover is a homage to Louis Vuitton in a pink graffiti style, it’s due to hit shelves 27th April 2010, but already fans are excited. Could this signal a teenage version of the hit show? A Gossip Girl rival perhaps? The story follows Carrie and her lessons in love, life, fashion and all things Carrie. It’s sure to be a hit. [Catwalk Queen]
Get a body like Twilight’s Ashley Greene
There’s no denying that Twilight star and onscreen vampire Ashley Greene has a body to die for (we’re hilarious, we know). Ashley spilled the beans on her fabulous figure; part of her secret is to work a 12 hour day, and then only eat healthy food. But to keep looking svelte, Ashley did four hours of training everyday as well as fight training. She also does pilates most mornings and some cardio. Ok, so perhaps getting Ashley’s figure isn’t quite as easy to work into our daily regime, but a few pilates classes here and there would be a good start. [InStyle]
Streamlined belted trench, £195, Ghost
Stunning silks, delicate chiffons and muted tones, the new range from Ghost is a fashion lover’s paradise. Easy to wear yet incredibly chic, there’s a real nonchalant feel to this collection. It’s all about taking seasonless, feminine pieces and building on them. The stunning streamline dresses look great worn alone, or paired with oversized cardigans and lots of layers. The simplicity of the clothes means that you can create either simple and stylish outfits, or high impact, fashion forward ones.

With so much to talk about, it’s hard to do anything else…
Heidi Klum hits the Victoria’s Secret runway

The model gave birth just six weeks ago to her fourth child, Lou Samuel, and seems to have sprung straight back into shape. The show was quite an event, Black Eyed Peas provided the music, whilst models including the gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Chanel Iman and Miranda Kerr strutted their stuff. [Catwalk Queen]

Get Victoria Beckham’s figure
Talking to US beauty magazine Allure Victoria Beckham has been sharing her slimming secrets. There is no denying she is one of the most svelte celebs around, and she quite openly admitted she watches what she eats:
“I’m not going to lie-I’m not one of those people that says, ‘Oh, I eat hamburgers.’ I eat salad.”
She also said she jumps straight on the running machine first thing after a breakfast consisting of a double espresso. Victoria went as far as mocking celebs which claim to eat more than they do, adding that she prefers salad to chips. She also opened up about her sex life. [Marie Claire]
Lauren Conrad to write style guide
Everyone’s favourite Hills girl is continuing her writing career. LA Candy was released earlier this year with rumours of a film based on the novel in the pipeline. Miss Conrad’s sequel Sweet Little Lies is due out next February, but news has just been released that a style guide book will be hitting our shelves. Slated for AW10, it will be called Lauren Conrad Style and it will offer practical hints and tips. It’s sure to be a sell out. If there’s a waiting list then we’ll be on it! [FabSugar]
Images left to right: D&G AW09, Belle prom dress, £35, Therapy.
Spot the difference: Brocade is a hot trend right now as the D&G dress on the left will testify. The dress on the right is by Therapy and costs an amazing £35. A brocade party dress is the best way to work a cocktail length whilst still making a serious style statement. Pair with hot-to-trot towering ankle boots to add a toughened edge. Hold back on accessories but place a chic black bow in your hair for a playful twist. Your style muse is Alexa Chung meets Marie Antoinette, so think grandeur, elegance and quirky style.
Peanut butter and grape jelly, it just shouldn’t work, but it so does. It’s one of those wacky combinations that seems so wrong that it’s right. It’s a cult classic Stateside and we’re now stocking it online. Spread over hot toast or why not create a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? This is serious comfort food.
Superdry Casual hooded leather zip through jacket, £295, Superdry
Love him or hate him, it’s hard to deny David Beckham’s flair for style. Ok, he’s made a number of style errors, that sarong skirt anyone? But in recent years he has been working the casual yet trendy look to perfection. Spotted in this Superdry jacket on a number of occassions, it’s the perfect throw it on for adding style to a pair of jeans. Team with workman boots and a chunky knit for true Beckham style.

We just can’t stop talking about…
Cheryl Cole to break the US:
It’s not possible to move at the moment without seeing her, hearing her, watching her or just bumping into lookalikes of her. Cheryl Cole is quite literally everywhere, and she’s about to make it Stateside.
To help her in the jump across the pond, none other than Jay-Z is rumoured to be mentoring her. The rapper has just signed the Sugababes to his label and is working with Brit singer Mr Hudson. The States is notoriously hard to crack, will she manage it? Watch this space. [Marie Claire]
Show 40% of flesh to attract a man
We’ve all had that “is it too low cut? Is it too short?” or “is it frumpy? Do I look like someone’s mum?” debate when picking an outfit to go out in. But scientists have now found that the key to attracting a man and not looking like a frump or overtly sexy, lies in percentages. Psychologist Dr Colin Hendrie of Leeds University studied nightclubbers, they looked at how many times women were approached by men and what they were wearing. They found that women showing 40% flesh attracted the most men, more than 40% was deemed to indicate future infidelity. Those showing only 30% were approached by fewer men. Not so surprisingly the most attractive 40%s were wearing very tight clothes. If you’re wondering how you get to 40%, then each arm is 10%, each leg is 15% and the torso is 50%. Good luck with the maths girls! [Daily Mail]
Gucci film confirmed
With rumours rife, conflicts emerging, the Gucci film concept looked over before it had begun. But Ridley Scott has confirmed that after ‘Robin Hood’ he will start work on a film about the Gucci family. The film should be released early 2011, it focuses on Patrizzia Regianni who was convicted of arranging the killing of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci. The Gucci family are reportedly up in arms about the film, and see it as an intrusion of privacy. But it still looks set to go ahead, Ridley Scott told WWD that they have a script. He also stated that a cast hasn’t been determined despite whisperings that Angelina Jolie and Leonardo DiCaprio will be the stars. Summing up the film Scott said “It’s the history of the family and how it evolved.” Forget Devil Wears Prada, this will be the ultimate fashion flick. [WWD]
