One of the perks of my job is that every now and then, I get to test drive a brand new beauty product. Enter Molton Brown Skincare. As a fan of this wonderfully fragrant brand, this was a particular treat — this is sheer grown-up luxury squeezed inside boxes and bottles with reassuring modern looks and a science-esque feel (this never fails to ticks boxes for me).
So in the name of research I have gallantly used four products from the collection for over two weeks now and here are my findings…
Step one CLEANSE
Product: Kalahari Melon Cleansing Fluid
First things first — this is more of a cleansing OIL. If you’re not used to this it can feel a little daunting applying oil to your face but trust me it’s SO good for your skin and really doesn’t leave you greasy – I promise. I wear quite a lot of make up so I did a cursory make up wipe before starting. It smells absolutely divine and is a really great way to start the morning or end the day. To apply, pump a little into the palm of your hand and massage into skin. Add water, repeat and rinse. Simple!
Step two TONE
Product: Tamarind Fruit Refining Toner
This step is my favourite mainly down to the fact that the smell is heavenly! The pump action dispenser is a smart way to avoid wastage and the toner feels gentle and refreshing on the skin without having a drying effect. To apply, sweep on with a cotton pad.
Step three MOISTURISE
Product: Creole Grass Anti-Ageing Hydra-Crème
This pleasing packaging looks like a super futuristic toothpaste tube and the pump action delivers a controlled flow smartly side stepping moisturiser overload. The consistency is lovely and thick yet it manages to avoid being greasy. Top Marks!
Product: Vita B3 Eye Concentrate
I can be known to burn the candle at both ends so a super cooling and refreshing eye concentrate such as this is a godsend. The slender nozzle allows for spot on perfection and soothes rather than ‘tightens’.
All in all I’d give the range a firm 7/10 with the Toner and moisturiser graduating to my makeup bag full time. Thanks Molton Brown!
