Bobbi Brown Navy & Nude Collection

When it comes to makeup, Bobbi Brown are at the top of their game; the new Navy & Nude collection is no exception. We love a natural makeup look for summer, and the slight hint of navy adds the perfect twist on a classic look. We headed down to our Westfield store to get up, close and personal with the new arrivals…

Firstly, the skin was prepped with Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil, Hydrating Face Tonic and Intensive Skin Supplement. When this had soaked into the skin, the Hydrating Eye Cream and Hydrating Face Cream were applied, which gave the skin enough moisture while keeping things light for the warm summer months.

Mena, the wonderful makeup artist who was showing us the new collection, started on the makeup by creating a flawless base. She corrected any darkness under the eyes with the Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector in Extra Light Bisque, and then moved on to concealing any blemishes with the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit in Beige and the Cream Blending Brush. The foundation which was used was the Long Wear Even Finish Compact Foundation, which lasts all day long and felt wonderfully light on the skin, and was set with the Sheer Finish Loose Powder.

Finally, it was time for the new Navy & Nude collection! Mena started with the Navy & Nude Eye Palette, where she applied a mix of the more neutral tones before gently applying the navy pigment along the upper lash line. The Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Steel Ink was applied with the Ultra Fine Liner Brush right along and inside the upper lash line, which added more definition to the eye, before the Everything Mascara was applied to the lashes. The brows were defined with the Brow Kit in Dark Brunette, which framed the eyes perfectly.

Onto the blush, where a mix of Bobbi Brown Blush in Desert Pink andAi??the Brightening Brick were applied to the apples of the cheeks to add a touch of natural colour. The lovely new Lip Gloss in Sailor enhances your natural lip colour, giving you a perfect pink tint.

Alice Carroll

I'm Alice, Al or, if you are the five year old me, Ice (yes, I did want to be a member of Kris Kross, and yes, I did wear my jeans backwards). Womenswear Editor at House of Fraser Online, I've grown out of backwards clothes and instead chose to invest my money in vintage sportswear and bomber jackets, while inking my body with unnecessary tattoos and rapping along to every word of The Streets - Original Pirate Material. My proudest moments were seeing a shoot I styled in my favourite magazine and getting a three-dart-finish in a game of darts. Oh, and Bart Simpson was my first crush.
