If I was stuck on a desert island and could have only one beauty product, it would be mascara. I always feel complete with it on, even if I’m not wearing any other makeup, so when I heard the hype of Urban Decay’s Perversion mascara (hello Kim K) I was eager to try it.
Perversion arrived with its sister lash primer, Subversion, which helps thicken and lengthen your lashes before the mascara application. Just as it is on the brush, it glides white onto your lashes and is extremely soft so you don’t feel like you’re piling on product. Now for the good bit – this really is a blacker than black mascara…
I find it exceptionally difficult to find a mascara that is truly black and really gives my lashes a fullness to them, but this is it! Easily buildable, I have ignored using false lashes on nights out and layered on this mascara instead. There is a risk to those with very fine lashes though, as it has been noted by some people that their eyelashes can look slightly ‘spidery’ when using the product. However, I would suggest using a black liner to fill in the gaps along the lash line to give the illusion of fuller lashes.
This is now my go-to mascara for both day and night but do be warned that it takes a good eye makeup remover to remove every trace!
It’s currently £17 with a sample of Subversion, so you’d better hurry before it goes!
