Tried & Tested: Clarisonic SMART Profile brush

Leave your hands in the past! This cleansing brush is the new must-have for washing your face and body and we’re big fans here at HoF. It uses an oscillation movement that moves the brush head back and forth between 200-300 times a second. And promising a smarter, easier and more powerful cleanse, it has microchipped brush heads which can adjust in speed, indicators of mode and battery-life and the ability to remove makeup 11 times better than your hands. I tested it out on my face this week and here’s what I thought…

I love it when I don’t have to make any effort to cleanse my skin so the Clarisonic SMART seemed perfect for me. It was easy to charge and hold when I took it out of the packaging. I applied this without any makeup on, to see how it would leave my skin overnight. Your skin needs hot water to absorb the cleanser, so I applied the Clarisonic SMART onto my skin with a warm brush head after wetting my face. It felt so light in my hand that I really wasn’t making much effort at all – great for when I’m feeling sleepy before bed. I brushed it in circular motions around my forehead, cheeks, chin and nose and it indicated when I needed to change. After washing the cleanser off with cold water, my skin felt plump and soft, but more obviously smooth. I applied my moisturiser and in the morning, my complexion looked even and my cheeks were glowing. For a makeup base, this is ideal. So I loved how good my foundation looked when I put it on, along with my blusher and bronzer. It looked less cakey and blotchy because my base was so polished. Thank you Clarisonic, you really are so smart!

I’m Lauren, Online Editorial Assistant for Beauty & Kidswear at HoF. By night I’m an ice skater, so I’ve been training a few times a week for the last 15 years. As you can guess this meant I grew up around a lot of hairspray and glitter, hence my love for all things beauty (Urban Decay and M.A.C are my saviours!). The rest of my time is either spent devouring feta, beetroot and quinoa salads, watching The Millionaire Matchmaker or getting broody over super cute kids’ clothes.
