Trend Tips: Beauty Confidential

We can now rejoice – an eye trend that doesn’t take a whole host of blending brushes and colours to perfect! Don’t be fooled though, the liner takes practice but once you’ve nailed it, you’re good to go.

For the perfect dramatic eye, a gel liner or liner pen work wonders as they work smoothly along the eyelid and are easy to direct. Take inspiration from the likes of Chanel and House of Holland….

Work from the corners of the eye all the way along, matching the point at the end of your eyebrows (Tip: line a pencil from the side of your nose to the end of your eyebrow to see where you should end) and then fill in for a thick and full finish.

Keep your base matte and fresh, with a hint of bronzer to highlight your cheekbones – a highlighter would also add the right light on key focal points on the face, ensuring there’s no distraction from your eyes. Brush through your brows with powder and keep lips neutral (for a bold day look, copy House of Holland with a brighter lip too).

For evening, don’t be afraid to add a taupe eyeshadow lightly dusted over your eyelids for a more intense stare!

My name's Bianca, Menswear Editor. Contrary to belief, I love Eastenders but wasn't named after the character... heyday of hoops and ponytail quickly erased from memory. Times have changed (thankfully) and although I love beauty, I equally love a good men's oxford shirt and jacket or two, for myself of course. You'll now find me flicking through men's magazine pages and my favourites list is increasingly becoming male dominated. Dare I say, there's a lot to learn from their style...
