Tried & Tested: Clarins Exclusive Essentials Eye Palette

Exclusively for you until 4th October, the Clarins Essentials Eye Makeup Palette is one of our new season favourites. It features 10 eyeshadows to create a nude, smokey or glittery party look. It’s your ulitmate day to night essential, so this is a must-have for your winter handbag.

I tested this out to see if I could really rely on it for my different eye shadow looks – I love a natural and nude glow for a casual meet-up, a smokey look for going out and a glittery look for a special occasion.

1. Nude Look

I used the first 3 colours in the palette for this look and love the subtle shimmer it gives me so that it’s still noticeable. It’s perfect for a quick makeup fix and being camera-ready. The second shade in the palette goes well with my skin tone, which I love. I’d definitely use these colours for a day look, whether it’s for work or meeting a friend.

2. Smokey Look

It makes such a difference to your overall look when you apply a dark eyeshadow, and I love how the black and dark grey colours blend with the browns to create a timeless, chic look. It only takes a few seconds to put on from a nude day look and it accentuates my eyes. I love the matte tones in this palette which are perfect for a smokey eye, so it’s gets a thumbs up from me.

3. Party Look

Autumn/Winter is all about the parties, and that means shine, shimmer and glitter. I applied the two glittery shades in the palette to the inner corner of my eye right up towards the brow bone and then used the dark brown shade to highlight the bottom half of my eyelid. It’s not too out there but it gives me a subtle shine. I love this look, which the palette caters for completely. The shimmer comes out generously on the brush so if you love glitter, you can completely go for it.

As you can guess this meant I grew up around a lot of hairspray and glitter, hence my love for all things beauty (Urban Decay and M.A.C are my saviours!). The rest of my time is either spent devouring feta, beetroot and quinoa salads, watching The Millionaire Matchmaker or getting broody over super cute kids’ clothes.
