What’s Your Signature Scent?

Christmas is the perfect opportunity to ask for that fabulous fragrance you’ve had your eye on for the last couple of months or to try something completely new. We know how important a perfume is for first impressions or to represent your personality. We’ve asked everyone here at House of Fraser HQ what their signature scent is – perhaps your new favourite fragrance is just around the corner!

Kate O’Brien, Womenswear Junior Content Editor, says:

My all-time favourite scent is Chloe For Women. I have been wearing it for a couple of years now and every time I smell it, it brings back so many great memories. I have tried alternative scents but I always come back to Chloe as I love its light and floral fragrance.

Lucy Sheref, Assistant Beauty Merchandiser, says:

My all time favourite fragrance is Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Lys Soleia. I discovered this perfume last year and it has fast become my favourite beauty product ever! It’s the perfect day to night fragrance, smells really feminine and unusual and I always get complemented on it.

Rebecca Gauder, Beauty Merchandiser, says:

My scent of choice is Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. I used to save it just for special occasions, but now I wear it every day because I love it so much. I used to use my mums whenever I visited her, so one day she had enough and treated me to my own bottle! The scent is really classic and it reminds me of my mum too.

Maureen Dunlop, Head of CRM, says:

Prada Infusion d’Iris is a long term favourite of mine. It’s a beautiful, sophisticated and lasting fragrance that’s just a little bit different. When I use it people always ask me what I am wearing.

Sarah House, Card Marketing Development Manager, says:

For the evening my favourite fragrance has to be Chanel Allure. As soon as I spritz it behind my ears I feel ready for an evening out – and it lasts all night long too!

Sophie Brittain, Email Marketing Assistant, says:

Tom Ford Black Orchid is the perfect scent, and I always receive compliments on it when I’m on a night out. I’ve been wearing it for years and a little spritz goes a long way.

James Pollak, Web Operations Analyst, says:

After I worked my way through the Lynx range as a teenager I now wear Bleu de Chanel every day, and it has become a firm favourite. I do have a cologne which I save for special occasions which is Comme des Garcons Wonderwood. It’s very spicy and woody, and takes me back to my GCSE days making useless wooden objects in D&T.

Carolyn Hook, Online Homeware Junior Merchandiser, says:

My signature scent is Narciso Rodriguez For Her, and I have been wearing this for about four years ever since it was given to me as a Christmas present by my boyfriend. There is something subtly spicy about the scent (I think this comes from the amber notes) and it’s also really feminine (but not sickly sweet). The scent lasts all day, which is something I think is a must when you are investing in a fragrance.

Jessica Scott, Senior Beauty Allocator, says:

My special occasion scent would have to be Tom Ford Violet Blonde. I have been using this for about a year now and it’s my favourite party scent, especially in the chilly winter months.

Emily Weston, Beauty & Childrenswear Online Assistant, says:

I love discovering and trying out new fragrances, but the scent I am always drawn back to is Thierry Mugler Alien, which I have been wearing for about six years. Every time I spray it or catch a whiff as someone walks past me, I’m instantly taken back to the time when I was living in Australia, getting ready for a night out. It brings back old , but amazing memories.

Maddie Melson, Senior Online Commercial Manager, says:

Now that the weather is colder I’ve switched to a more wintery scent. I’ve recently started to wear Chanel Coco Noir, which is deep, rich and absolutely perfect for winter.

Annabel Donovan, Online Beauty and Childrenswear Merchandiser, says:

I absolutely love Miss Dior Eau de Parfum, and it’s been a firm favourite of mine for a while. It’s a very girly, fruity and floraly scent, but is also very elegant, so it can be worn for the day and night!

Sarah Morley, Online Assistant Merchandiser, says:

Once I found Roberto Cavalli Eau de Parfum I bought it there and then and haven’t looked back! I always spritz it before a night out, and I find it isn’t too overpowering – it’s important for a scent to compliment you, not take over the conversation.

Zara Eck, Online Content Producer, says:

I wear Marc Jacobs Daisy every day, ensuring I spray it on my wrists, behind my ears and in my hair – if you spray it in your locks the fragrance lasts much longer. The floral and feminine scent represents my personality to a tee!

Leigh Grave, Online Assistant Fashion Accessories Merchandiser, says:

My favourite scent of all time is Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche. I only use it for special occasions, which means that I appreciate it that little bit more and can smell it all day long.

Charlotte Woodhouse, Beauty Marketing Manager, says:

My signature scent has to be the original Stella McCartney Stella Eau de Parfum. It’s an old favourite I have worn ever since it launched nine years ago in 2003 – no matter what new fragrances take my fancy from time to time its always the one I revert back to… My old faithful!

Elise Morel, Homeware Online Editorial Assistant, says:

I love to swap and change my perfume all the time, which means I don’t tend to have a signature scent! At the moment I absolutely love Gucci Flora, which is floral and a bit sugary. I’ve got to admit I love a flirty and girly fragrance!

Emily Farley, Online Content Coordinator, says:

I love Chanel Allure Sensuelle because it’s smoky yet sweet and makes me feel sophisticated and confident for a special night out. When I wear it I feel like someone different – it transforms me into a new woman.

I'm Alice, Al or, if you are the five year old me, Ice (yes, I did want to be a member of Kris Kross, and yes, I did wear my jeans backwards). Womenswear Editor at House of Fraser Online, I've grown out of backwards clothes and instead chose to invest my money in vintage sportswear and bomber jackets, while inking my body with unnecessary tattoos and rapping along to every word of The Streets - Original Pirate Material. My proudest moments were seeing a shoot I styled in my favourite magazine and getting a three-dart-finish in a game of darts. Oh, and Bart Simpson was my first crush.
