Preparing for your wedding: Lesson one! You may become obsessed with all sorts of things you haven’t cared too much about until now…

Case in point – makeup application.

Sam, our brilliant fashion and beauty editor, will wax lyrical about this palette and that eye makeup trend. I on the other hand have got through life without going beyond the basics. My usual routine looks something like this: wash face, moisturise, add tinted moisturiser, cover spots, add mascara and a little Vaseline to the lips – ta da! But somehow this just won’t cut it for my wedding day. So I have enlisted the help of cosmetics genius Bobbi Brown.

We’ve become ever so graceful at HoF Towers, we’ve been plié-ing and pirouette-ing all round the office, we’ve gone crazy for all things ballet. From Erdem’s SS11 collection, to Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella right through to the smash hit movie Black Swan… we are in love with all things girly, pink and tulle. Ballet has indeed made something of a comeback, no longer is it the domain of pretentious three year olds with oversized buns, instead it is the new exercise du jour, with celebs queuing up to work on their pas de bourrée.

We love a challenge at House of Fraser Towers, and when we heard that those clever folk at Rodial had created a miracle in a bottle we thought we’d better put it to the test. It has already caused a sensation in the media, and sold out instantly.

Boob Job by Rodial costs £127 per bottle and claims to be able to increase your cup size by 8.4% within 56 days of use. Based on natural ingredients, it’s paraben free and the miracle ingredient is called Sarsasapogenin and is derived from plants.

Does this mean the end of painful plastic surgery? We were sceptical but willing to give it a whirl. Our tester followed the instructions and used Boob Job for the full 56 days.

I have always dreamed of being able to flutter my eyelashes in a coquettish manner to attract a new beau. Sadly, lashings of mascara usually leave my lashes looking cakey and rather smudged, and I’ve feared false lashes in case they start wandering down my face like an aimless spider dressed up for a party.

That was until I dabbled in the latest breed of false eyelashes, I was given a pair of Urban Decay’s Lure eyelashes (£11) to try and instantly fell in love with them. They look beautiful on, and whilst I was a little fingers and thumbs putting them on, I got them on and they stayed put all night. I adore the dramatic sweep that they create, ideal for fluttering.
