Kids Trends SS13 : Hippy Dippy Days

Are you dreaming of the summer? Wishing it was time for the summer wardrobe? Why not plan for the little ones too? A hot trend seen on the Spring/Summer 2013 Childrenswear Catwalks was a hippy and boho vibe, which consisted of floral patterns, a neutral colour pallet, relaxed layering, scarves, lace, denim and embroidery. Perfectly laid back for your little summer hippy.

A huge hit for the summer is a washed out light denim – this Tommy Hilfiger jean is super cute and can be paired with a bright top and layers for a classic boho outfit. The scarf adds a perfect layer already! Tan booties are a staple piece, especially when the weather hasn’t quite warmed up yet! The Ugg Fur Cuff Chestnut Booties will last well for the winter too. If florals are her favourite pattern, the Little Joule Girl’s ditsy floral print smock dress will be easy to throw on and layer with, as it adds a mix of colours to the outfit.

If your little girl prefers to wear a trouser rather than a dress, the Little Joule Girl’s ditsy print legging will look absolutely lovely when worn with her favourite sandles and a t-shirt. Keep it casual with the Armani Junior Girl’s black stripe jersey dress – perfectly boho when teamed with fringed boots and a bright scarf or accessory, such as the Desigual Girl’s headband.

Triangulo stellar

We all know how the English summer usually turns out – lots of rain! Not to worry, as the Toby Tiger Girl’s Floral Wellies will add a touch of sunshine to an otherwise dreary day. Lands End Girl’s Floral Dress will appeal to the little girl who doesn’t like to wear anything too bold, by adding a hint of colour into the equation, while Desigual showcase an in-your-face print in their triangulo scarf.

I'm Alice, Al or, if you are the five year old me, Ice (yes, I did want to be a member of Kris Kross, and yes, I did wear my jeans backwards). Womenswear Editor at House of Fraser Online, I've grown out of backwards clothes and instead chose to invest my money in vintage sportswear and bomber jackets, while inking my body with unnecessary tattoos and rapping along to every word of The Streets - Original Pirate Material. My proudest moments were seeing a shoot I styled in my favourite magazine and getting a three-dart-finish in a game of darts. Oh, and Bart Simpson was my first crush.
