If I was really out to impress, and money was no object, I’d choose a pair of super-flattering 7 For All Mankind Rozie Little jeans – they’re a dark Venice blue which helps them make the crossover from casual to semi-smart. I’d team them with Hobbs’ Ophelia top – the longer sleeves mean not having to worry about a cardigan and I find the bright, vibrant orange colour to be both fun and flattering to my complexion. Shoes-wise, I couldn’t pick any better than Maison Martin Margiela’s dark tan cut-out shoe boots with the chunky heel from the S/S 2013 collection (practical, too – don’t want to go stumbling in stilettos in front of my date!), and I’d also turn to MMM for my bag; the “shopping bag” folded clutch is innovative and multi-function, something that I’d appreciate when buying an investment piece. To finish, a spritz of Tom Ford’s Private Blend Neroli Portofino which has the ability to lift my mood whenever I smell it and is attractive to the opposite sex without being too heavy and cloying. There – set! Who could resist?

My perfect date outfit would be something that’s elegant but with a dash of sexiness. I would go for an above the knee dress and maybe a red, I would wear comfy yet with sexy heels, perhaps vivienne westwood as her shoes and comfy are quirky, I don’t want to look like im struggling to walk or accidently trip up and not enjoy myself.

It has to start with great underwear to fit and flatter, sheer tights, followed by the LBD – not too revealing, but fitted enough to give some interest – shoes high enough to be flattering, low enough to walk in (in case things don’t go quite to plan!)a good spray of a light, subtle scent and a bag that’s big enough to be practical and small enough to be smart. I have to be comfortable in my clothes so that I am not pulling and tugging them all night. It starts with underwear, comfortable and properly fitting and holding in the right bits! The clothes on top will then look great whatever I choose to wear but I usually feel less self conscious in a well cut pair of trousers and a flowing top. Low heels or flats and an across body bag. I glam it up with jewellery and make up.
