Goodwood Revival 2013

Here at House of Fraser, we were lucky enough to be invited to the Goodwood Revival festival, where everything vintage is celebrated – we’re talking Chitty Chitty Bang Bang-esque motors, feminine shaped ensembles and gentlemanly stylings – and we, for one, were more than happy to take a stylish step back in time…

The typically British weather did not dampen the spirits of the festival goers – sheltering themselves, and their well thought out outfits, from the rain with vintage fur stoles and classic boiler suits. Between the vintage stalls, shiny motors and various entertainment acts (the faux street fight between the Mods and the Rockers was our favourite), there was classic car racing and music from bands that looked like they jumped straight out of the Grease movie.

Of course, our favourite part of the festival was the Biba stall. Doused in everything Biba, the stall showcased coverted Biba bags, clothes and accessories, which could all be looked upon while having a make-over by the Benefit girls.

We loved Goodwood so much, we’re already excited to go again next year – the outfit planning begins….

Alice Carroll

I'm Alice, Al or, if you are the five year old me, Ice (yes, I did want to be a member of Kris Kross, and yes, I did wear my jeans backwards). Womenswear Editor at House of Fraser Online, I've grown out of backwards clothes and instead chose to invest my money in vintage sportswear and bomber jackets, while inking my body with unnecessary tattoos and rapping along to every word of The Streets - Original Pirate Material. My proudest moments were seeing a shoot I styled in my favourite magazine and getting a three-dart-finish in a game of darts. Oh, and Bart Simpson was my first crush.
