Our January guest blogger Lily from Lily Kitten is on hand to help you fight your way through the January sales…

Out with the old, and in with the new! If there’s one thing that New Year brings us, it’s the chance to reflect on the past year and look forward to the future. New Year’s Resolutions are in full swing and amongst the plethora of healthy eating/gym related status updates; I’m focusing on something a little more stylish… New Year Fashion Resolutions!

Over on my blog, www.lilykitten.com, I love chatting about all things fashion-related. So, in true fashion blogger style, here are my top 3 New Year’s Resolutions straight from the catwalk:

1. Dress for your size

Okay, so this one is a little bit related to the healthy eating resolutions, but instead of jumping on a band wagon or dangerous yo-yo diet in order to fit into a pair of skinny jeans, I’m vowing to dress for my size. Of course, eat healthy and work out too, but if you’re buying your New Year clothes a size too small for “motivation” to lose weight then leave them on the hanger.

2. Stay sane in the sales

January sales – it’s the only thing getting me through the post- Christmas blues. However, I do tend to go a little overboard on things that I justify to myself as a “bargain”. If you wouldn’t pay full price for it, it’s not a bargain. Don’t get sucked in by deals!

3. Investment pieces

I’m all about mixing high street with high-end pieces – my wardrobe is a mixture of the two. Despite this, I will only buy designer items that I can safely say are investment pieces that will become well-worn staple items; coats, handbags, shoes. Plus, you can never have enough shoes, right?
