Long live leopard print

If you thought that leopard print had used it’s nine lives, think again; it's back on the prowl. Despite knowing it’s nothing new – this motif always appears utterly contemporary, utterly cutting-edge.  It’s a print that transcends trends and time and sits firmly within the lexicon of cool. During fashion week, it was spotted (pun intended) on everything from oversized tote bags, flouncy blouses and tailored trench coats. If you’re wild enough, choose a printed statement piece like a maxi dress or jacket to be the hero of many an outfit or you can easily work in a touch of the trend with your accessories.

Country pursuits

AW19 saw the reimagining of the heritage trend descend on the runways of AW19 with the likes of Alexa Chung and Victoria Beckham sending sartorial love letters to the traditions and craftsmanship of England. The habitually dependable and Balmoral-esque heritage tweeds, plaids and smart separates have left behind any previous signs of being typically passé or out of date and have been reincarnated with doses of contemporary styling options leaving us feeling more heritage chic than an extra from The Crown.

Sweet like chocolate

One of next season’s favourite colour palettes looks as delicious as it sounds, with rich shades of caramel, chocolate, chestnut and biscuit proving to be a delicious trend. While summer was all about fifty shades of beige, for autumn, designers are opting for deeper, moodier and more luxurious shades. Mix them into your wardrobe now by way of rich, chocolate separates that will look great with sandals and beachy accessories now, and brown leathers and trench coats come winter.

Grown-up grunge

Make Wednesday Addams your muse and embrace autumn's grown-up grunge trend. Checks, chunky-soled boots and leather everything are going to be big come fall, but if that sounds a little too Matrix for your taste, you can cherry-pick which components you want to adopt. We suggest starting with a leather skirt or a pair of trousers and softening them with a knitted tank. Don’t forget those chunky boots – they’re winter's answer to the chunky trainer and are the perfect piece to offset your transitional midi dresses and denim and tee ensembles.
