Yesterday, I had the pleasure of going to Pulse 2012 in Earls Court, London, a trade show of the best and upcoming designers in homeware and lifestyle. So what’s coming next season? I can already reveal that you will LOVE all the quirky and vintage designs in tableware but also the adorable  stationery that is coming into your home this winter. Find out what caught my eye below…

Animal prints will take over your home: cushions, posters, ceramics… They are everywhere!

Catchy phrases are also one of the massive hits this season

I fell in love with these Cloud cushions

Pulse was also the platform for British newcomer designers to showcase their product in Mary Portas shop within House of Fraser. A selection of 8 designers took their chance to present their homeware or lifestyle range to Mary Portas Business Partner Peter and the House of Fraser homeware buying team in a very short pitch of 10 minutes.  A bit like in X Factor, the professional jury had to decide whether or not they would go further with the designer’s product. They also took in consideration the audience who had to vote for the designers they preffered by putting some red stickers in front of their name, like I said almost like a reality TV show!

Here’s some pictures of the designs for the Mary Portas competition

From left to right: Martha Marshall and her lovely home-made greeting cards, Darren Wilson and his innovative organic flowerbombs, the freshly graduated Rosie Brewer and her jigsawlike wood chopping boards.

Fom left to right: Martha Mitchell and her biscuit ceramics, Sarah Cole and her quirky historic mugs and one of the jury’s favorites, the seeding cards of Sally Moris.

So who’s the winner? Results in Mary Portas shops in House of Fraser next season…
