Glasgow’s House of Fraser store, Fraser’s, turns 160 this weekend and we are ready to party!
From Thursday 15th October – Saturday 31st October Glasgow prepares to celebrate with style. You’ll find fabulous events taking place in store, so here’s a quickfire rundown of the highlights.
The event kicks off today at 2pm with 160 balloons being released on Buchanan Street, each balloon has a prize attached from one of our top brands. Then there’s a party in store from 6pm-10pm with refreshments, cupcakes and live entertainment. As well as the 160 years of Fraser’s exhibition opening at 8pm.
Tomorrow keep the little ones happy with the Kids Carnival which runs from 16th-17th October 11.30am-3.30pm 4th floor. You’ll find face-painting, competitions, balloons and popcorn.
17th October sees the most exciting event with the store opening at 9am for One Day Only Prices. You will find a Mulberry bag worth £895 for £160, a Panasonic plasma screen television for £160, and top brands with huge one day only discounts.
On 24th October there will be live cooking demonstrations on the ground floor at 2pm by top chefs from Malmaison and Hotel du Vin.
30th October will see you supporting the Fraser’s team cycle a 160 mile static race at 11am on 1st floor balcony, in aid of Beatson Institute for Cancer Research.
You will also find stylists on hand, make up artists ready to pamper and teach, and a whole host of beauty events. Brands will be holding events, and Ralph Lauren has even designed an exclusive men’s polo shirt. Live DJs will be playing every Saturday at 2pm throughout October, and there is so much more.

Glaswegians didn’t cover themselves in glory today at the release of the 160 balloons!
What embarrassing, albeit from maybe only 20/30 men/women/children, scenes. Whilst amusing to watch it was amazing no-one was seriously injured in the ‘scrum’.
