NAKED palette, £27, Urban Decay
Calm yourselves ladies, because the Holy Grail of eye shadow palettes is here… The Urban Decay NAKED palette has arrived. But hurry, because this palette won’t be hanging around for long… the palette is currently exclusive to House of Fraser, and last week it flew off our shelves quicker than we ever thought possible, so you’re going to have to act quick if you want to own this magical makeup.
Everyone’s after the NAKED palette because the colour range is just perfect for every skin tone. The range of shades means you can go chic and natural or dramatic and smokey. The 24/7 eye pencil is double ended with a stunning rich chocolate shade and a classic black. The set also comes with a travel-size eyeshadow primer potion to keep your gorgeous eye makeup in place.
If you’re anything like me, you love the romantic idea of making your own jam, brewing your own beer and baking your own bread a la the Good Life (like two of my very perfect friends – not jealous at all). But, you’ve probably also got a sneaking suspicion that there are better things to be doing on a Sunday afternoon…
There are shops to visit, friends to catch up with in the pub, not to mention the obligatory exercise sessions, oh and did I mention the boyfriend?…
In fact, with so much to fit into a typical week, you’d think I’d be forgiven for chronic domestic failure. But unfortunately, the fact remains that while I’m getting in the first round at the pub, my two perfect pals are miraculously churning out delicious home-made fancies in a smug, 50s housewife way.
In the past I would have shrugged my shoulders, admitting domestic defeat graciously, but from now on, thanks to the geniuses at Tefal – I don’t have to!
Their cute little jam-maker is the answer to my prayers. Making scrumptious home-made jam in just 20 minutes, their 3 easy steps take me straight to domestic heaven – and all without giving up an entire afternoon…
So where will you find me this Sunday?
In the pub of course, getting the first round in and smugly handing out home–made jam to my friends – in particular those two who make Barbara from The Good Life look like she’s right off the set of Shameless…
High five to Tefal!

The House of Fraser Big Brand Summer Sale is now on! You’ll find loads of fabulous bargains and you will not be able to resist a cheeky splurge.
If you want the most flawless skin which sees you looking younger than ever however old you are, then listen up.
The secret is… looking after your skin and avoiding sun damage. Yes, that’s right it’s not some fancy cream that will wipe away all signs of ageing but it’s purely caring for you and your body. Today House of Fraser is launching a brand new exclusive pop up shop in the Oxford Street store.
TV personality Sarah Cawood will be launching Ultimate Skincare which is a campaign focusing on the early detection of skin cancer. The campaign is in collaboration with the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) and is in response to the increase in cases of skin cancer in Britain, BAD have also found that people are not checking their skin and not everyone knows what to look for.
BAD have created Ultimate Skincare… a beauty product with a difference… yes we told you no magic creams and we meant it. This beauty product may look like a pot of luxurious cream but it actually contains information on how to check for skin changes and what you need to look out for.
Why do I need to worry?
Even if you use sunscreen you still run the risk of developing skin cancer, a whopping 100,000 new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed in the UK alone every year, with one new case of skin cancer diagnosed every 5 minutes. Staggeringly one Briton dies every four hours due to skin cancer. But if you detect a melanoma at an early stage there is an estimated 99% survival rate. So you see, it’s vitally important that you check and get to know your skin.
Talking about Ultimate Skincare, Sarah Cawood our celebrity ambassador explained:
“You can spend all the money you like on fancy lotions and potions but the real secret to beautiful skin is what we’re trying to raise awareness of through Ultimate Skincare. Skin cancer is becoming more and more common and early detection through self checking and raising anything of concern with your GP is the secret to beating it.”
If you want to check out Ultimate Skincare for yourself and we strongly advise to do so, just head down to House of Fraser, Oxford Street 10th-16th June 2010 or click here to visit the Ultimate Skincare website, or click here to find House of Fraser Oxford Street
