If you’re anything like me, you love the romantic idea of making your own jam, brewing your own beer and baking your own bread a la the Good Life (like two of my very perfect friends – not jealous at all). But, you’ve probably also got a sneaking suspicion that there are better things to be doing on a Sunday afternoon…

There are shops to visit, friends to catch up with in the pub, not to mention the obligatory exercise sessions, oh and did I mention the boyfriend?…

In fact, with so much to fit into a typical week, you’d think I’d be forgiven for chronic domestic failure. Why do I need to worry?

Even if you use sunscreen you still run the risk of developing skin cancer, a whopping 100,000 new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed in the UK alone every year, with one new case of skin cancer diagnosed every 5 minutes. Staggeringly one Briton dies every four hours due to skin cancer. But if you detect a melanoma at an early stage there is an estimated 99% survival rate. So you see, it’s vitally important that you check and get to know your skin.
