Loafer Love

We’re big fans of farmers. They’ve brought us meat, dairy, bread, cereals and (in the case of Norwegian farmers), our favourite men’s shoe, the loafer.

Yep, Norwegian farmers first made the classic Moccasin-style loafer back in the 1930s. And, after the style was picked up on by American tourists, America did what it does best – taking something unique and turning it into a roaring commercial success.

This summer, the loafer is the A-lister of men’s shoes. Here’s just a few of our favourites…

Loafing in the city

We love these tan boat shoes! Team with jeans or chinos (rolled up slightly at the bottoms) for a laid back summer look.

Loafing on the beach

A loafer-come-espadrille, pair these little beauties with your chino shorts and a classic polo.

‘Greece’ woven shoes, Dune, £40

Loafing in the office (which obviously we’d never condone…)

Tassel loafers are one of the season’s key footwear trends. This blue suede pair, look great with chinos or jeans for a versatile smart/casual look.
