Colour blocking – from the feet upwards

If you haven’t noticed colour blocking is everywhere. Pop art colours and primary school shades have become the look of the season. The key is to keep it simple, pick block colours and pair with other block shades, for example a pair of orange shoes with cobalt trousers teamed with a yellow tee… sound scary?

Don’t be afraid of colour, this season colour is back, oh and isn’t it welcome? We’re so tired of black and grey, it’s time to let your imagination run riot and have fun with fashion. And, most importantly don’t listen to all those people who say you can only wear certain colours, because it’s a myth, there’s a shade out there for everyone, and anyone can do brights.

Each week throughout feb we’re going to bring you our favourite brights, to make your week as fun and colourful as possible. So this week, let’s start with the feet:

Left to right: Light blue, A?120, Cobalt blue, A?120, Coral pink, A?130 all by Carvela

Top tip: Bright shoes are the easiest way to dabble in this trend, so if you’re too scared to go for full throttle colour, team a pair of eye-popping shoes with a pair of jeans and a bright vest.

Left to right: Black with colour block, A?140, Washed orange, A?140 both by Carvela, Green suede, A?195, Kurt Geiger
