Daily Gossip:

Today calls for hot chocolate and a good old fashioned gossip…
Luella has ceased trading
We nearly spilt our hot chocolate when we heard this news, try not to cry girls, we know it’s hard, we’ve been sobbing since we heard. Club 21 the London based global licensee has pulled out of the Luella brand. Luella in her statement did say that “We have a number of options open to us, and are considering these over the coming months”. This news comes after the brand was hit badly by the recession and the factory was forced to close unexpectedly, which means that Spring 2010 orders won’t be fulfilled. This is truly shocking and we can only hope that someone steps in quickly to save the brand that epitomises girlish charm. We’ll have our fingers tightly crossed! [Grazia Daily]
Madonna is the face of Dolce & Gabbana
Love her or hate her you can’t deny the power of Madonna. She’s been the face of Louis Vuitton and now she’s jumping ship to Italian design duo Dolce & Gabbana, she will be heading up the Spring/Summer 2010 campaign. It has in fact already been shot, in Brooklyn, New York by Steven Klein. Steafano Gabbana blogged “We’re very, very tired but happy as well… To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true.” There had been a rumour that Madonna was actually going to be the face of the menswear line. Is she a good choice? Who would you like to see her as the face of Dolce & Gabbana? [Catwalk Queen]
Donatella to leave Versace?
Versace is in trouble, that much is clear. Financial problems may well cause the Versace fashion house to fall apart. Newsweek have published a rather probing and potentially damning article outlining just how far Versace may have fallen. Versace is not taking as much money as it used to, and Donatella’s hold on the company is questionable. The article also raises concerns over whether Donatella should stay at Versace. The future of Italian brand looks rather unclear at present. It will be fascinating to see what happens and how the label will evolve either with or without her. [Newsweek]
