Who will be the king/queen of fashion?
To continue the British Fashion Council’s 25th anniversary celebrations, the BFC have decided to award a unique and one off award to a select individual. At the annual British Fashion Awards in December, a new and onetime award called London 25, will be voted by the public and will be awarded to the person who embodies ‘the spirit of London’ as well as acting as an ambassador for our fashion industry. A suggested list of nominees has been posted on the website which includes Alexa Chung, Manolo Blahnik and Matthew Williamson. The winner will be announced on 9th December, so get voting for your ultimate fashionista. [WWD]
The path to weight loss?
In a new study, researchers have found that different foods will alter the types of bugs that live in our gut. It is the bacteria in junk food, is partly why we put on weight when we eat it. So, there is now the argument that probiotic yoghurts might actually help combat weight gain. The theory is that the bugs are what slows the metabolism and causes the fat to be stored. Therefore, by taking a probiotic, good bacteria, it may boost the better bacteria which will leave us looking slimmer. This research is still in the early days, and whilst having a probiotic won’t make you skinnier when you spend all day eating junk food, it may well help as part of a healthy diet. We cannot move around the web without hair focused articles popping up left right and centre. Blake Lively is being crowned as the new Jennifer Aniston thank to her ‘must have’ hair, whilst Danni Minogue’s do is being talked about in every magazine, paper, blog, people just can’t get enough. And then of course Victoria Beckham recently appeared with her new shag style. It looks like now is the time of year for a new hair cut and it’s sent beauty journalists everywhere a little bit crazy. What would you rather? Blake’s flowing golden locks? Or perhaps Danni’s sleek forever changing bob? Or would you go for Mrs Beckham’s new sexy look? So many options…
