Daily Gossip: Hair myths banished & London Fashion Week

For glossy locks… use shampoo

How many times have you complained about your hair, for someone to throw an old wives tale back at you?! We’ve certainly lost count, and thankfully today Philip Kingsley has sorted fact from fiction. Here’s a brief summary; beer – does give good body and weight but is expensive and smells. Olive oil – have to mix into an emulsion for it to have any effect. Vinegar – helps smooth hair but leaves a horrid smell and just moves grease around your head. Eggs & mayonnaise – don’t rinse with hot water, good, but shop conditioner better. Coca cola – works to an extent but sticky. Banana – no effect. Witch hazel – great for reducing oil on the scalp. We’ll be sticking to our off the shelf shampoos then, at least they make your hair smell nice. [Daily Mail]

London Fashion Week goes digital

Fashion week is almost upon us, time literally flies by, and just as the stores prepare for Spring/Summer 2010, we’re getting ourselves ready for Autumn/Winter 2010.  Covering the fashion weeks is no easy task, whilst the shows are fun, there is a lot of standing, queuing, waiting and running involved. It is the time of year when you will see well dressed fashionistas in sky high shoes running down the streets of London desperately trying to make it to a show only to find the door slammed shut in their faces… we’re not bitter. Anyway, to combat such issues, the British Fashion Council has just announced that London Fashion Week will be digital this season. The London Fashion Week website will be streaming all catwalk shows. Those holding presentations will also be streamed on the site. Finally, the front row is open to everyone, and it’s so much nicer with a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit… bliss. [Handbag.com]
