Tom Ford is not just a highly acclaimed, incredible designer… oh no, he’s also made his mark in the film world. His film ‘A Single Man’ which is due for release here early next year, has just been nominated for three Golden Globes. Colin Firth is up for one for Best Actor, Julianne Moore has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress and the third nomination is for the score. Although Tom Ford didn’t get a personal nomination, he’s sure to be pretty chuffed with three nominations for his first film. [Fashionologie]
CEO of Ungaro resigns, whilst Lindsay Lohan stays
Mounir Mouffarige, CEO of Emanuel Ungaro has resigned from his position. He won’t be leaving the company completely, as he will be staying on in an advisory role. Lindsay Lohan, the brands artistic advisor, will however be staying on. This is an unusual move, Mouffarige has been Lindsay’s biggest supporter, even when her first collection was torn to shreds by fashion journalists. Who knows what the future holds for Ungaro now?! Forget Gaga it’s all about SuBo
Grace Coddington is the woman who emerged as the star of ‘The September Issue’, as the vision behind Anna Wintour, the pair have an intriguing dynamic. In an interview with the Times, it emerged that another minor creative disagreement took place over the latest Vogue issue. For the December issue, Grace wanted none other than Susan Boyle to start as the wicked witch in their Hansel & Gretel special:
“Annie Leibovitz wanted her too, but I think Anna thought it was just all too British and not right.” Anna Wintour had different ideas, and chose Lady Gaga, talking about the eccentric popstar, Grace commented:
“I have to say I didn’t really know who Lady Gaga was. She turned up in a white rubber coat, stark naked underneath. No buttons, nothing — and completely you know, shaved, and this huge wig because she’s so insecure without it. But she was wonderful.”
Who would you have rather seen as the wicked witch? [TimesOnline]
