Zara Phillips turns designer

She may be royalty but Zara Phillips doesn’t intend on sitting around all day being waited on. The 28 year old has turned her hand to clothing design. Before there’s widespread panic it’s not going to be a Victoria Beckham attempt, it’s actually far better suited to the royal. Zara shall be creating a line of equestrian wear for label Musto. The range shall be called the Zara Phillips Collection and it comprises of seven pieces, all of which shall be branded with Zara’s competition number 176. With Zara’s natural flair for style, we’re expecting great things. [WWD]

V magazine: One size fits all

There has been much excitement surrounding the January issue of V magazine  ever since it was first rumoured that it was to be a size issue. 2009 saw size once again become a subject of controversy thanks to US Glamour magazine and Mark Fast putting normal sized models on the catwalk. The new issue of V will cater to all:

“Big, little, pint-size, plus-size – everybody is beautiful. And this issue is out to prove it” Stephan Gan Editor-in-chief.

A sneaky peek of the magazine as shown one shoot called ‘One Size Fits All’ and it features Jaquelyn Jablonski pictured alongside plus size model Crystal Renn in the same outfit and pose. Karl Lagerfeld and Bruce Weber are rumoured to have contributed. [Fashionologie]

Controversy clouds Brittany Murphy’s death

Sunday was a tragic day for all Brittany Murphy fans, family and friends. She had been the star of every girl’s favourite film ‘Clueless’ and tragically died aged 32 of a heart attack on Sunday. Since her death, rumours have been rife about what caused someone so young to die so suddenly. The finger has been pointed at prescription drugs, which cannot be confirmed until toxicology reports come through, there are claims that it was anorexia that killed the actress. And today, it has emerged that her husband Simon Monjack is to be questioned by police. One consistent theme is that the star had been deeply troubled and had allegedly become hooked on prescription drugs following plastic surgery. Whatever the cause it is a tragic loss. [Daily Mail]
