Wondering how to stay stylish yet comforatble come December 25th? Blogger Christina Lindsay-Miller from The Daydreamer helps solve the tricky task of what to wear come Chrsitmas Day…
Stuck with what to wear on Christmas Day? Can’t decide between comfort and style? The Christmas day outfit runs the risk of being a sartorial dilemma but, if you’re prepared, it’s one of the most fun days of the year to get dressed.
Overindulgence is pretty much guaranteed (chocolate coins, turkey, trifle, mince pies, cheese and biscuits and Baileys all play havoc with our waistlines) but don’t be afraid to wear something gorgeous – just make sure your chosen outfit offers the opportunity to slob!
How to do it in style? Think stretch fabrics and elastic waistbands! One option is to go the black leggings and knitted jumper route, a failsafe combo sure to leave you feeling relaxed, but one that doesn’t quite cut it in the style stakes. Instead, why not try a jersey wrap dress with over-the-knee boots, or a loose-fit top in this season’s berry tones (we adore this one by French Connection) with a statement necklace in the same hue? Worn with this Oasis print skirt, black opaques and Linea loafers, you’re sure to feel dressed up without the risk of being painfully structured! The colours and texture bring the style factor, while the relaxed cut of the top and the flat shoes mean this outfit is practical too! What’s more, you can wear each of the separates again with other pieces in your existing wardrobe; the t-shirt with jeans, the skirt with a winter knit. Simple!
