Little Red Dress: Get the look

With invitations flowing in and the prospect of champagne corks popping, you might be starting to give some thought to your party outfit. Party time is synonymous with The Dress or more accurately, the Little Black Dress. We turn to this wardrobe fail-safe when we need something simple and chic (we all know that Audrey Hepburn, the queen of the LBD, knew what she was doing), but why not upgrade your party dress this year and opt for a LRD, i.e the Little Red Dress. Just as chic as it’s cousin the LBD, but it’s also daring and offers up a style statement rather than a style play-it-safe.

Don’t let it’s bold hue fool you though, the LRD can be tailored for any event; Black Tie, winter wedding or simply dinner with friends. So here is our guide to getting the perfect LRD look whatever the occasion…

Kate O'Brien

Hi I'm Kate, in a previous life I was Womenswear Editor but these days you are more likely to find me pouring over a planning calendar than the latest copy of Elle in my role as Online Content Producer. A Northern tourist in London, some of my favourite things in life include red wine, chutney (accompanied by cheese), sequins, grey cashmere and Matt Damon. I am known in the HoF office for owning far too many coats for one person, laughing too loud, and drinking full fat Coke only when hungover. My life's ambition is a simple one; to own a Puggle.
