James Lakeland is a designer name synonymous with timeless fashion. So thank goodness I had his help for a crazy week which saw me jetting to Monte Carlo, pictured in a British tabloid, breakfasting at Browns Hotel with Bentley Motors, lunching at Scott’s, boutique launches, and a fashion show/champagne tea party at one of London’s most opulent hotels.
Recently a stylist said to me that every woman should look impeccable everyday. Well, that’s a lovely notion if you have a rich boyfriend to support you and your biggest task each day is planning your next holiday. Who has the time to plan the minutiae detail of each days outfit after fighting the days fatigue unless you have a squad of professionals helping you? Precisely why I was so grateful JL sorted my wardrobe for this week; I turned up looking chic, professional, and feminine.
I was ecstatic the British sun shone for an art gallery opening exhibition in Soho and the launch of the new Jaeger Boutique on Regent Street as I did my weekly event-hopping. A White Pant Suit is one of my Top 10 favourite looks of summer. I wore it with a grey vest top and nude heels which weren’t my first choice but I actually think it worked very nicely alongside a heavy cuff.
This JL nautical-themed plitted sleeve dress is a similarly fresh look for summer:

I have been exploring business opportunities in Monaco for the last couple months by way of one of the country’s leading lifestyle PR firms called The Style Lab . When they invited me down for the 10 year anniversary party of one of their clients, how could I say no? Sadly the weather wasn’t as gorgeous as it could have been but I certainly made the most of it by using The Spa at my hotel (the iconic Fairmount Hotel), exploring the local shops, and dancing up a storm until the early hours at Zelo’s. A monochrome ensemble of printed pants and silk vest top was an ideal solution for a weekend trip that is comfortable enough to travel in but chic enough to hang at a 5-star hotel in Monaco:
Third up was a meal with a very well-heeled friend and potential new business colleague at one of Mayfair’s most exclusive restaurant, Scott’s, which serves the best fish of any of the restaurants under Caprice Holdings/Richard Caring’s umbrella of high-end eateries. It was a sunny day so I opted for a fun and flirty frock:
Although it was not my intention to match the lavish deco-infused interiors of the iconic Lansborough Hotel, for a society afternoon of high tea and fashion, it certainly seemed it could have been! My JL printed shift fetched me many compliments from the stylish women attending this afternoon of vintage fine jewellery (Lulu’s Estate Jewellery), fashion by Beulah (a favourite of the Royals), and decadent nibbles (and bubbles) by a 3-star Michelin chef. The dress perfectly took me to a business meeting and dinner and drinks afterwards:
And that is the epitome of a JL design; functional and stylish. Thank you James for helping to sustain me throughout the hectic my hectic schedule without sacrificing taste or style!
All the best,
